Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about CheckNext, from how it works to what it costs.
What is CheckNext?+
CheckNext is an AI-powered property intelligence tool for UK home buyers. Paste a Rightmove or Zoopla listing URL and get an instant, independent report covering construction era, running costs, potential issues, risk rating and a personalised viewing checklist — all in under 30 seconds.
What listings are supported?+
CheckNext currently supports Rightmove and Zoopla property listings across England, Scotland and Wales. Simply copy the URL of any active listing and paste it into the search bar on our analyse page.
How accurate is the AI analysis?+
Our AI acts as a UK property maintenance expert, drawing on construction data, EPC records and the listing description to produce its assessment. It is not a substitute for a professional survey — it is a fast, independent second opinion that helps you know what to look for before you commit time and money to a viewing or an offer.
What's included in Stage 1 (Link Analysis)?+
Stage 1 analyses the listing and returns: the likely construction era and associated issues, estimated annual running costs (heating, maintenance reserve, council tax), top 3–5 potential problems with severity ratings, a personalised viewing checklist and an overall risk rating with a plain-English explanation.
What is the Viewing Assistant (Stage 2)?+
After your viewing, upload the photos you took on your phone. Our AI analyses the actual condition of what you saw — spotting damp patches, cracks, roof damage and other defects the estate agent didn't mention. You get room-by-room condition scores and recommended follow-up questions. Available from £3.99 per property.
What is the Survey Review (Stage 3)?+
Upload your surveyor's PDF report and CheckNext translates the technical jargon into a clear 5-year maintenance roadmap with cost estimates and priority ratings — so you know exactly what you're taking on and what it will cost. Available from £6.99 per report.
How much does CheckNext cost?+
Your first 3 Stage 1 analyses are completely free — no card required. After that, credit packs start from £4.99 (Explorer: 10 Stage 1 analyses). The House Hunter pack (£9.99) includes 25 Stage 1 and 2 Stage 2 credits. The Serious Buyer pack (£19.99) includes 25 Stage 1, 5 Stage 2 and 2 Stage 3 credits. You can also buy individual stage upgrades a la carte.
Do credits expire?+
No. Once you purchase a credit pack, your credits never expire. Use them whenever you need them — whether that's this week or six months from now.
Can I share my report?+
Yes. Every report has a unique shareable link you can send to your partner, solicitor, surveyor or anyone else involved in your purchase. They don't need a CheckNext account to view it.
Is my data secure?+
Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. We don't sell or share your personal data with estate agents, developers or any third party. Your reports are private to you unless you choose to share them.
How is CheckNext different from a surveyor?+
A surveyor physically inspects the property — CheckNext doesn't replace that. What we do is give you an independent, AI-powered assessment before you spend time and money on viewings and surveys. Think of Stage 1 as your research assistant, Stage 2 as a second pair of eyes at the viewing, and Stage 3 as a translator for the surveyor's report.
Who built CheckNext?+
CheckNext was built by a small, independent UK team with experience in property technology and AI. We have no affiliation with any estate agent, developer or mortgage broker — our only interest is helping buyers make better-informed decisions.
